Tennis player Emma Raducanu became the US Open champion last Sunday after winning the Canadian Leylah Fernandez 6-4, 6-3 in the women’s final. A historic victory, since, at just 18 years old, the British is already the earliest to win a Grand Slam, since María Sharápova at Wimbledon 2004, starting from the qualifying round and without losing any set and also without having played a single tie-breaker. Raducanu’s victory transcends much more than the purely sports field. The British tennis player, born in Toronto, has gone from being an unknown to a different figure from the others, with an unusual…

“The sky is no longer the limit” reads the promotional video for Privateer Space, the mysterious private space company founded by Steve Wozniak, co-founder of Apple, and Alex Fielding, creator of Ripcord. The video is less than a minute long and, although it does not provide detailed information, your words could suggest, “This is not a race, it is not a competition or a game. We are not a single person, a single company or a single nation. , we are one planet “, that its objective is not to compete in the space race in which Jeff Bezos, Richard…
The figure of the self-employed, due to their nature and the Social Security regime in which they are included, tends to be disconnected from that of employed workers, but there are some cases in which there are certain similarities between both groups. This happens in the case of the economically dependent self-employed (TRADE) , those who are engaged in “an economic or professional activity for profit and in a habitual, personal, direct and predominant way for a natural or legal person (…) of the who depend economically for receiving from him, at least, 75% of their income from work and…
Uranium is the last raw material that joins the price tension that the energy market is going through. The metal’s price is up 5% today to $ 42.40, according to Chicago’s CME commodities market. It is trading at 2013 highs and was up more than 9% last week, but the previous week it was 14%, the biggest weekly rally since the Fukushima disaster. But the reasons are not to be found in the sudden increase in demand. Rather, in the voracity of a fund that invests in physical uranium and that already accumulates almost a third of the market. The…
The price of electricity continues to rise and while the Government is already studying a plan to stop the constant growth of this, various institutions continue to defend the abuse of companies and consider it necessary to carry out tough measures . One of them is Facua, who has proposed a reform of the social bond with three sections of discounts for vulnerable families. Discounting 50, 70 or 100% on the electricity bill sounds very remote and even more so when the price of electricity in the wholesale market reaches a new record day in and day out. However, it…

Lenovo’s new laptops are lighter than ever, with major new features like OLED displays and Windows 11 support. The star of the range is the new Lenovo Yoga Slim 7 Carbon, which the company presents as the lightest 14-inch OLED laptop in the world, weighing only 1.1 kg. The key is in the name: “Carbon” refers to its carbon fiber and magnesium alloy chassis , which is what has allowed it to achieve such low weight, even in such a complete model. It’s tough too, as evidenced by its MIL-STD 810H military certificate, which means it has passed nine tests…
There are currently more than 272,000 workers within a Temporary Employment Regulation File (Erte), a figure very far from those of mid-2020, a period in which 3.6 million were counted. In this large group, it could be the case that a person wishing, before the Erte, to begin the procedures to retire early was included. These workers, if they want to take early retirement while being in an Erte, must follow a specific path, both as if their working hours have been reduced or if, directly, they do not work while waiting to be re-entered into the company. The key…
