This includes many of his lines in the movie, which were taken straight from A Christmas Carol. They range from “Marley’s dead: to start with” and “solitary like an oyster” to “Darkness cheap and Scrooge loves it.”

The Muppet Christmas Carol depicts the ghosts and present of Christmas past, Christmas future, and Christmas after they return in a way that is both inspiring and very faithful to the script.

The ghost of Christmas Past is not given gender, but is described as having long, straight hair and wearing white clothes with flames on his head.

Scrooge’s first number in The Muppet Christmas Carol is another delight. This was performed by the Muppet Team. Sir Michael walks through the crowd, his eyes unassisted.

It is full of wonderful lyrics, including “Here’s Monsieur Humbug, Here’s Mr. Grim / He’ll be the winner if they give him a prize because he’s mean.

In a nod towards the adorable critters and critters that are often seen among the cast with small parts, the puppets sing mice, vegetables penguins, sheep, and other animals.

The annoyed family of mice said it this way: “Don’t ask him for any favor, for his uglyness increases / There’s no crust of cheese for the needy and no bread for us,” in a little bit more elaborate charm.

The vegetable sings, naturally, while the shopkeeper adds, “If it gets us flavor, you can wager it’ll turn sour.”

Could Scrooge’s miserliness have been emphasized more?
