Blue World Voyages, the only cruise line dedicated to sports and wellness, has entered into an agreement with a major 5-star cruise company to acquire its first vessel in 2026. Before its maiden voyage, the ship, which is entirely composed of suites, will undergo a substantial refit to fully integrate the Blue World concept. The redesign, overseen by Tomas Tillberg, will see the creation of 30 luxurious one- and two-bedroom Residences on the upper decks, which will be available for private ownership. Blue World co-founder and acting CEO Fredy Dellis reports that several of these Residences have already been reserved by prospective buyers. “Visiting exciting destinations without leaving home is the ultimate lifestyle for sophisticated travellers,” says Dellis, who leads the project.
The ship will also feature 160 passenger suites, each approximately 352 square feet, nearly twice the size of typical cabins on other cruise lines. These suites will offer in-room wellness amenities, large balconies, spacious seating areas, and walk-in closets. Thanks to the ship’s generous public and private areas, guests will enjoy a comfortable, low-density travel experience.
Those who own Residences will have access to the ship’s full range of amenities, including the largest fitness and sports conditioning deck at sea, as well as the cruise industry’s most comprehensive wellness facilities, offering rejuvenation, recovery, and spa treatments. The redesign will also include a seawater lap pool and a marina deck with easy access to water sports activities.
Plans for cutting-edge sustainability technologies are underway. The $80M Adaptive Refit™ will incorporate LEED principles, with advanced energy-efficient systems, waste reduction technology, and sustainable materials.
Gene Meehan, the founder and chairman, emphasised the innovative and bold nature of Blue World’s approach to ocean travel. “Nothing like this exists. We intersect wellness, personal enrichment, and adventure travel to place something new in the water, Active Lifestyle Cruising with like-minded passengers and residence owners onboard.”
Meehan further highlighted that Blue World’s focus on active, health-conscious adults positions the company at the forefront of the cruise market, as it taps into the burgeoning $1.1 trillion Wellness Tourism sector. “Our team is ready to set the benchmarks for sports, fitness, and wellness programming at sea.”
