Graham Potter, Chelsea manager will take his non World Cup players to Abu Dhabi to warm-weather train while he plans to revive the Champions League qualification push.
Potter’s side is seventh in Premier League table ahead Wednesday night’s Carabao Cup visit to Manchester City. This will be a tough journey in league. Against Newcastle United, who is in third placeBefore the World Cup, domestic season breaks.
Sunday’s defeat against Arsenal left ChelseaPotter, who is plagued by injuries, will have to fight for the top four finish and the league break in time.
While most of his first team members will be playing in the World Cup, the rest of them will travel to Abu Dhabi in December to attend a warm-weather training camp. Chelsea will also play at minimum one friendly match.
The camp, which will last for a little over a week, will allow Potter to plan the second half the season for Chelsea and to do major tactical work with players who did not take part in the World Cup. Including striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
Potter and his players, who are not participating at the World Cup, are likely to be on leave immediately after the Newcastle match. They will then resume work and travel to Abu Dhabi.
