Piers Day Launches National Mental Health Programme for Men

Piers Day, an award-winning mental health coach, is set to launch a groundbreaking service across the UK to support men’s mental health, aiming to break the stigma around discussing men’s struggles.

The programme, Out of the Darkness and Into the Lighthouse, is designed to offer men of all ages a safe, supportive environment to address mental health concerns. It provides practical guidance, coping techniques, and a sense of community.

Through webinars, meet-ups, and weekend events, the programme offers a range of activities, including group walks, fear-challenging exercises, and retreats. Highlights include the 26-mile Pedlands Way walk and intimate retreats featuring holistic therapies like Reiki. With online and in-person options, the programme is accessible to men across the UK.

The project stems from Piers’ personal mission to “make suicide history,” inspired by the loss of three close friends. Through Out of the Darkness, he aims to provide support and tools that are often missing for men, helping them manage mental health more effectively.

The programme also supports parents, offering guidance on managing children’s mental health challenges. The Lighthouse concept symbolises a safe and supportive place in dark times.

Piers has already fostered a growing community through the Out of the Darkness Facebook group, with over 400 members engaged in discussions and peer support before the UK launch.

The programme uses a membership model, with flexible monthly options for access to its services and an exclusive membership site. With clients already on board, the official launch is set for two weeks.

Piers Day said: “There is no question that some support exists, but the reality is there is not enough—especially for men. Too many guys are slipping through the cracks because they don’t feel comfortable opening up in traditional settings.

“That’s why Out of the Darkness and Into the Light House is so important. It’s about creating a space where men can genuinely connect, feel heard, and work through their challenges without judgment. This isn’t just about talking; it’s about action—facing fears, building resilience, and ultimately saving lives. I’ve seen first-hand the devastating impact of silence, and I’m determined to make sure no man feels like he has to battle his demons alone.”

With suicide rates high among men under 50, Out of the Darkness and Into the Lighthouse seeks to provide hope and a supportive community.
