New season, new swim fabric

We are absolutely delighted that Monday 24th January saw the launch of COCONUTS swim shorts, now made from a new REPREVE® fibre.

REPREVE® is made from recycled plastic bottles rescued mainly from the ocean. The bottles are chopped up, washed thoroughly and then melted before being turned firstly into flakes and then into chips before being heated, extruded and spun into fibre. At the time of writing around 31,265,063,000 bottles have been recycled in this way since the development of REPREVE® in 2007.

We have also used OEKO-TEX certified dyes meaning that they have been inspected and proved to contain no harmful pigments or inks.

Together with our updated sustainable packaging materials, all made from recycled materials and all recyclable and all made here in the UK, we are very proud of this launch which truly supports our slow fashion and sustainability credentials.
