According to a recent UX Connect report, owners of large foldable phones are increasingly reducing their reliance on tablets and laptops, as these innovative devices transform user behaviour.
The expansive screens of these foldable devices often enable users to leave their tablets behind, while delivering a markedly improved experience in areas such as video viewing, gaming, productivity, and multitasking.
The report further revealed that screen size is a critical factor for both compact and large foldable phone users. Compact models attract buyers seeking a small, discreet device, whereas larger foldables appeal to those desiring a bigger screen when unfolded, without compromising portability.
Paul Brown, the report’s author and Head of Research at UX Connect, commented: “The screen crease or hinge is a major concern for foldable owners. Many have experienced issues with the screen/crease being unreliable or breaking. This is something the manufacturers need to improve.”
