NCM Auctions, specialists in auction and asset management, are collaborating with Spectrum Control, a global authority in electromagnetic spectrum technology, as they streamline their UK testing and development locations. Based in Pennsylvania, USA, Spectrum Control is a key manufacturer of sophisticated RF/microwave, microelectronics, and security solutions, vital for secure radio signal communication in essential defence, commercial, industrial, and aerospace applications around the world.
Spectrum Control has enlisted NCM‘s expertise to enhance the lifespan of their redundant assets and high-tech equipment as the firm merges its production activities at its Great Yarmouth facility and moves to a novel Design and Development Hub in Milton Keynes.
The web-based auction features a variety of specialised lab and testing gear including environmental test chambers, thermal shock ovens, shielded enclosures, and microscopes, alongside general items like office decor, benches, climate control units, forklifts, lifting devices, and a significant 1,400 sq m mezzanine level.
Amy Rutherford from NCM Auctions shared, “We’re delighted to be working with Spectrum Control on this auction. It includes a lot of expert lab equipment that is rare to market. Their actions to dispose of this surplus equipment in an environmentally friendly way means we can extend the equipment’s lifecycle as it’s repurposed and reused by our auction buyers.”
She also noted, “We’re seeing a lot of interest from colleges, universities and specialist training facilities. This auction also includes building fixtures and fittings, including the mezzanine floor, air conditioning units, lots of furniture and storage items, which are always in high demand from our network of buyers.”
Echoing the sentiment, Danny Docwra, HS&E and Facilities Manager at Spectrum Control, stated, “We are very happy to have appointed NCM Auctions on our behalf to assist in our consolidation activities, their views on sustainability and reduction of environmental impacts align with our business’ own environmental targets. We look forward to seeing assets that served us so well going to other businesses that can benefit from them as opposed to going to landfill.”
The online auction for Spectrum Control is due to end on 1 March. Interested bidders can browse the catalogue and register to bid now.
