France’s star Olivier Giroud stated that he could sympathize after seeing the header. Gareth Southgateside of 2022 world Cup.

Ex-Arsenal ChelseaThe forward scored a 2-1 win for France on Saturday, sending his country into the semi-finals Qatar.

France performed well, Didier Deschamps’ strategy worked perfectly, but many would agree that England was the better team for the duration of the 90 minutes.

Jirou seemed to agree with this sentiment to a certain extent, suggesting that the outcome might have been different for the three lions on another day.

The 36-year old told ITV that although they may have deserved more, it was the small details that made the difference at this level.

It reminds me a lot of the match against Belgium [at the 2018 World Cup semi-final]We were 1-0 up, and had to defend, to show a lot more slip and generosity.

It was again demonstrated today. We were very efficient with their money in the end. It’s football with small margins.

Despite a clear foul on Bukayo Taka during the preparations, Aurelien Tchoameni’s goal for France was not ruled out.

The second penalty kick was awarded to England’s national team by Harry Kane. This was also a ridiculous moment as the referee only approved it after consulting with the video assistant referee.

Giroud was not so sure and said: “I was telling referee that it was a difficult decision to give the penalty.

These are the kinds of mistakes you will see in every game. Although the striker didn’t expect his defender to be there, it was something I knew in every game. It felt a bit rough.

I didn’t speak to Harry. I was talking to the referee, but you can’t undo what you’ve done. He made the decision, and we were fortunate that he didn’t put it in his net.

France reached the semifinals and will face Morocco on Wednesday. They are trying to become the first team to win back to back World Cups in 60 years.
