The video was posted on tik tokLydia Cook wrote the following: “Today, today, I was my own age when I learned how fires can start.”
Lydia commented on the clip: “* Starting to fear the house fire*”
The CornwallA woman created a second video to warn others and explain the source of the smoke.
She explained that a mirror was reflecting sunlight onto a small area of her sofa. You could almost see the fire in her eyes.
Lydia explains that this mirror causes reflection.
Lydia points out the enlarged side and says “I suppose that was up.”
“Obviously, you can see how that’s going on now.”
She explains that she was earlier in the morning sitting at the window, putting on her makeup.
“He was completely throwing it away, there were absolutely zero signs of sunburn.
“And I put the mirror on the floor and went to the kitchen to do some work.
“After two hours I realized how sunny it was, turned around and saw this like strange smoke rising from the couch, so I obviously had no idea what was going on, and I thought I was burning incense and lost my mind and forgot about it.”
Lydia claimed that she began recording evidence to prove that the sofa had been damaged by her.
“Then I realized that it was the mirror, which I had left earlier that day,” she continued.
Lydia explained that the sun was shining in the wrong spot, shining on the mirror I had randomly placed in an incorrect place.
These fires are becoming more obvious.

Firefighters issued earlier in this year general warningWe discovered two large fires in our house after looking at the reflections from the mirror.
At the time, Merseyside Fire Prevention and Rescue Group Director Mark Thomas said: “Fires that are happening in this way are becoming more and more apparent.
Both fires were ignited by light reflected off the sun. The sun directed the sun’s rays through the magnifying mirrors towards the combustible materials.
“Take a look at your home and see if there are magnifying glasses or other items like paper weights or ornaments made of glass. Keep them out of direct sunlight.
“Never leave shaving mirrors or vanities on window sills—that’s a recipe for disaster.
“It’s important to keep aerosols, flammable items, and other items out of direct sun.”
These tips will help you stay safe from fire.
- Keep magnifying glasses out of direct sun
- Avoid placing glass ornaments and paperweights on windowsills or in direct sunlight.
- You should not leave vanity mirrors or shaving mirrors on windowsills.
- Be aware of things in your home that could be exposed to direct sunlight
- Smoke alarms should be installed on every level of your house.
- Consider adding alarms to rooms with electrical equipment and sleeping areas.
- Smoke alarms are tested once per week
- In the event that there is a fire, get out of your house and call 911.
