2023 season TennisAustralia is hosting the inaugural edition of a new tournament. United Cup.
There will be 18 countries competing for the trophy. Players from the ATP as well as the WTA will also participate in squads. The roster features some the most important names in the game, and the United Cup serves as a warm up to the Australian Open for many – which is the first Grand Slam of the year.
Men’s World No. 2 Rafael Nadal, and No. 4 Stefanos TsitsipasBoth were scheduled to appear, while she was ranked number 1 in the world in women’s rankings. Iga SwiatekShe will play for Poland while Jessica Pegula, Team USA’s number three, will be there.
A total prize pool of US$15m (£12.5m), split equally between ATP and WTA players, is being offered. Based on their participation, team wins and prize money, individual players will be awarded different amounts. Ranking points are also available making the United Cup an important event on the season calendar.

What is the United Cup?
The Nations Cup, a mixed team competition, will feature 18 nations in three cities: this year, Perth, Brisbane, and Sydney. Brisbane and Sydney have indoor hard courts while the former has outdoor hard courts. The Australian Open balls will be used.
When does it take place?
The tournament begins Thursday 29 December and continues until 3 January in group stage. The City finals are on January 4, the semi finals on February 6 and 7, as well as the first-ever Cup final for United on Sunday January 8.

What is the shape of the shape?
Each city will host two groups, totaling six. Each group will host three countries.
In the group stage, there will be two ATP matches, two WTA singles matches, and a mixed doubles game between each country. If the aggregate scores of the singles matches are 2-2 then the mixed doubles score will determine the winner.
After the round-robin, the two countries that have the highest ranking in each city’s group will move on to the City Finals.
The winners of the three matches, i.e. The three winners of those matches – one from Sydney, Perth, and Brisbane – will then progress to the Final Four with the loser of City Finals with a record of their three matches. The semi-finals will be followed by the final at the Sydney Olympic Park Tennis Centre.
Does Great Britain participate?
yes! With its hosts Australia and Spain, the British team is in Group C.

GB will face Australia on December 29th. Norrie will face Alex de Minaur, while Swann will take on Zoe Hayes. The next day, Dart faces Ajla Tomljanovic, while Evans plays Jason Kubler. The participants in mixed doubles have yet to be determined.
Great Britain will face Spain on December 31st and January 1st, with the highlight being Nuri against Nadal.
