Michael Heng, Project panellist, came under fire for jokingly declaring that he had wanted too Prince AndrewIt was dead.

The comedian from Australia was thinking about the most important events in the past year, including Tuesday’s news program. The death of Queen Elizabeth II September

He joked with his friend about the late King and suggested that her son be next.

He said that 2022 was disappointing. “Of course, the Queen has died. But maybe next year will be better. Prince Andrew may die.”

He apparently caught his hosts Kate Langbroek Hamish MacDonald, Georgie Toney and Georgie Toney by surprise. They looked shocked and began to laugh.

Heng laughed at her and said, “Come on!” Are you standing up now for Prince Andrew?

Langbroek continued the joke and asked Prince Andrew if he would be Henning’s “Persona of the Year”. To which he quickly replied, “No”.

Although his comments were funny in the studio, others watching at home didn’t take the joke as seriously.

One person shared their thoughts on Twitter: “Wishing for someone to die on live television is disgusting and disgraceful regardless of what.”

One person called the remarks “tasteless”, while others called on Heng to be fired.

Starting next year, he will appear on The Project every Saturday and Sunday night.

Chris Bendall, executive producers, announced the new 2023 lineup. Bendall stated that Hinge was part in a move for more humor in the news.

He said, “Comedy is at The Project’s core, and looking at news you didn’t need to laugh at any point.”

Andrew was stripped from his military affiliations, royal patronage, and approval from Queen Elizabeth in January.

Andrew was now eighth in line for the throne after he paid a financial settlement Virginia Giuffre who had accused him of sexual assault. This allegation he refuted.

Metro.co.uk contacted Channel Ten’s Michael Henge to request comment.

The project is being broadcast on Channel Ten Australia.
