Votes continue to be counted for both the Senate and Congress, so it seems that the so-called red-wave of elected Republican seats has become a red whine.
Despite playing a large role in Republican campaigns, the former president seemed to suggest to the US news channel News Nation that he was only responsible for any success — not electoral failure.
Shortly before the vote count began, the host asked: “I have endorsed more than 330 candidates in this election cycle.
“Tonight, win, lose, results for Republicans – How much of that will be due to Donald Trump?”
He replied, “Well, I think if they win, I should get all the credit.
“If they lose, I shouldn’t be to blame at all, okay?”
He smiled slightly and added, “But it could quite the opposite.”
“When they win they will do very well. I take a little credit. In many cases, however, I have asked people to run and they often turn out to be very competent candidates.”
Trump concluded his speech with the following: “Usually, when someone does a good job, they won’t get credit. If they do poorly, they will blame you for everything. So I am ready to do anything, but we will defend ourself.”
Trump was already blamed for many of the losses to candidates he supported Democrat opponents.
It is not yet known what this will mean for Trump’s alleged running plans. President again in 2024.He already stated that he would make a big announcement next Tuesday.
