Tom Hanks Names the One Film of His He Feels Was Overlooked

It’s a long list of classic movie roles that he has played. Tom Hanks“The greatest movie of all time.

The Hollywood star won back-to-back Oscars in 1994 and 1995 — for Forrest Gump and Philadelphia, respectively — and has starred in some of the most critically acclaimed and enduring films of recent times including Saving Private Ryan, Toy Story, Cast Away, Sleepless in Seattle, and Elvis.

But, Oscar winner isn’t satisfied with the lack of recognition for one film.

The 66-year old actor spoke on the ReelBlend podcast and shared his thoughts about 2002. The road to perditionIt is often overlooked.

“For one reason or another, no one is referring to Road to Perdition, and that was a very important movie to me,” he explained.

Sam Mendes directs the American crime thriller. Tom plays Michael Sullivan, a mob enforcer, whose son witnesses a crime that leads to his father’s redemption.

“People always say, ‘What movies are they going to talk about years from now? Tom agreed.

I watch Turner Classic Movies a lot and I love any obscure or unknown movie from the 40s or 50s. I don’t have any preconceived ideas about it, and I don’t know much about it.

“When I watch those movies, they’re crackerjacks and they are incredibly moving, all that comes to mind is, ‘I’m so happy this movie lasts forever, because I get a chance now to revisit it.’ Road to Perdition may be an example of this.
