Readers are frustrated by the PSVR2’s high price and disappointed that Sony spent money to create a VR headset.
We know so far. The PlayStation VR2 It will cost $550 / £530. Some people will argue that this is a good deal for the amount technology inside. These guys are right. It’s a great deal if you have the money and don’t mind not owning any shooting games.
Let’s talk about that briefly before we get to the rest. Why is PlayStation VR2 something no one asked for or expected at this point in time? PlayStation 5Omar will be released in February without any games. Horizon: Call Of The Mountain is the most popular game. It will be out next year. Why not wait until the game is over to release the headset?
It doesn’t matter whether the speaker is released in February, March or July. Her potential audience would not change, and no one was waiting for her to speak at a particular time. It’s not like November is February, when everything happens. I believe there is a reason Sony released the PlayStation VR2 after that. It’s simple: they went insane.
I’m not sure if I was being sarcastic. While it’s impossible for an entire company not to go insane, there’s no other explanation of how Sony has behaved over the past six month. Communication has been almost non-existent, there have been no advertisements for new games, even though they clearly have a load. And, they only have a few paragraphs to express themselves in a microblog. I don’t know how much he makes, but I can only guess that it is significantly increased by small payments from Microsoft.
But, the PlayStation VR2 is what really sets me apart. This must have all been planned before the pandemic. It is clear that the best thing to plan to release PlayStation 5 in the second year (remember, it was supposed for this year) was to purchase a premium headset and not to play normal PlayStation 5 games.
How does this make sense, even if there is a global financial meltdown and energy crisis? Out of all the things that waste your time, money, and manufacturing, choose something that is extremely expensive and will only appeal to a small number of people. How many more games could have been created to cover the cost of research, development and manufacturing of the PlayStation VR2 What other games could the developers have been making if they weren’t stuck making VR games instead?
PlayStation has two major advantages as a brand: it’s cooler than Xbox and its first party games are much better than Microsoft. Sony has already destroyed the first concept by their wall of silence, and now they seem determined to destroy the second (don’t get me started about live service games).).
The pandemic hit in full force in 2020. Sony knew that the financial system was in serious trouble. However, no one expected that the PlayStation VR2 would be suspended. It was a good idea. We now have a peripheral that is more expensive than the console, and it comes out on time. People would be worried if they could afford their energy bills or their mortgages.
I am very upset about this as I own a PlayStation 5 but I am becoming increasingly worried that Sony has lost their way. I worry that they’ve lost their common sense and that they don’t seem to care about fans. There is very little to look forward too and much to be concerned about.
