Yorkshire Water spokeswoman Emily Brady said: “Managing home water use is a great way to cut down on bills. The environmental benefits of saving water are well known, but there is also a huge cost saving to reducing your use – especially when heating water.
“Our findings clearly show that you can make a difference in how much you spend. If every family could make a few small changes, they could save a fortune annually.”
