Travelman: Dublin, 48 hours
Channel 4, 8:30 p.m
“So, of all the hot spots in the world, Dublin brought me in,” says Mawan Rizwan. You’ve got to sympathize with the comedian — the travelogue series recently whisked guests away to Rio de Janeiro and Vilnius (and visited 50 other remote locations in more than 11 series), meaning an overnight stay in Ireland’s rainy capital will never feel like the most Weird candy. Redouane was hoping to go to Ibiza, especially since he was secretly hoping for it.

Joe Lysette, the host, has no idea. “It’s a wonderful city,” he insists, before Radwan is whisked away to appreciate some of the city’s 275 statues. They then order the full meal at Dublin’s smallest eatery, enjoy a pint from a Guinness Store, and take a refreshing dip at Forty Foot. Even though they don’t walk around sampling the city, the couple still enjoys a lot of the more interesting, historically significant or lively pleasures (everywhere else he goes is, vaguely devoid of Dublin’s greatest draw – the bustling crowds who have fun) Go
