Anne Hegerty was available to assist the players and preserve the Chasers’ formidable reputation.
However, the game has experienced many ups as well as downs since its inception.
The first player to advance home performed incredibly well after getting every question right and was awarded £10,000.
He puts in a strong performance against Ann but his fellow players can’t keep pace with their winning streak after Ann captures them.
Things were looking up for player number four, as Jayne answered four questions correctly.
Jayne, however, was confronted with all the shows on the table and made a shocking decision. Fans were stunned when she revealed why she was on the show.
Jane, a retired banker who is an avid questioner, claims that she wasn’t in it for the money when Anne questioned her.
“You’re obviously an tester,” the governor said to her. “I mean you are a retired banker and not here for money.”
Jane laughed and said that she wanted the experience, not just the money.
She replied, “Ehr. I just want to have fun and meet you and Brad!”
With only Pete’s hard-earned £10,000 waiting at the players desk, Jayne opted to go for an offer of just under £2,000 which angered fans online.
One fan said, “It started so good, 2000 what an embarrassment.”
Another angry: “Fucking old kid is going down…ffs!!”
A third raged at Jayne as they harshly commented: “Jayne you’re a f***h. Poor Pete.”
The fourth is “Low alert and massive offer.”
Although Jayne manages to come back, Anne proves too strong in the final chase as she beats the duo and gets back the £8,000 they’ve been playing for.
