The 10 best travel stories from City A.M. 2022

It was the year we took as many vacations that we could. Like the end of “you’re what made us go even harder.” Brits have enjoyed the chance to travel by rail or further afield. We feel that travel is essential for us. There is a greater emphasis on mental health and well being than ever before.

After years of collaboration, 2022 was our year to realize that there was no better time than now to begin defining our destinations.

These are 10 stories that City AM’s travel writers have handpicked to capture some of this year’s travel trends. These stories will inspire you to travel and wanderlust in 2023.

Londoners ride in Chelsea tractors and zip down windswept roads to Devon.

Devon has been very popular for many years. But with Cornwall being a problem of overtourism and many of us looking to escape to the UK, Devon has seen a lot more tourists than ever. Salcombe is the new London tourist hotspot. Harbor Beach Club & Hotel is a new hotel that has just opened. If you don’t feel like traveling, you can visit the Bay Area and enjoy the many bars and shops. Take a boat ride in Salcombe next spring, and get out of London. 2022 marked The 150th Anniversary of The Open Golf Championship, which was established in St Andrews (Scotland) in 1994. The tournament celebrated its 150th anniversary in its hometown, which gave new life to the old town. The campus is stunning with beautiful Oxonian beaches and pearlwhites. If you don’t win one of the tickets to play a game, the Old Course can be walked up and down. Some people queue up for hours to get the chance to play on these beautiful lawns. Kate and Wills also met there, so do your research and take note of current students’ jokes and facts about the royal family. City Ski Championships is where seasoned skiers can flex their skills with the guidance of top professionals. Eddie Eagle was there last year and even went out to cut some slopes with our writer, Simon Miller. Tournaments are the best way to get the experience you can’t buy. Stay at The White Lotus Hotel to Avoid Death

Adam Hi Nichols Checking into the White Lotus Season 2 Hotel in Sicily to see if he gets killed. We were fortunate that he didn’t because it allowed him to write his essay. San Domenico Palace, a beautiful hotel overlooking Mount Etna, is located in Taormina. Wander the streets outside the city and you will be amazed at their beauty. If you feel like swimming, the beaches are just a short drive away.

Visit Al-Ula, Saudi Arabia’s last ‘new region’

Saudi Arabia is the last international region that was previously closed to tourists. Because the country is open to tourism of any type, locals can see signs of natural heritage for first time. The sandstone ruins of AlUla are older than the pyramids and a visit in 2023 really is a chance to be among the first to see these amazing new natural attractions.It is worth spending some time wandering the streets.

We are all in favor of the promotion and development of tourism in the UK.
