Variety was informed by the family of the deceased artist that Earl was diagnosed with lung carcinoma last year. He died on Thursday in Hawaii.
Earle played the role of a criminal psychologist in Terminator 1.
Kyle had returned from the future to kill the Terminator (a cyborg) Arnold SchwarzeneggerJames Cameron’s 1984 science fiction film, Science Fiction: A desperate attempt to save humanity from machines.
Earl appeared in the sequel Terminator 2 – Judgment Day – in which he degrades Sarah Connor (Linda Hamilton’s) cyborg warning – and Terminator 3 : Rise of the Machine. As seen in Terminator: Dark Fate, 2019.

Robert Patrick, the actor who played the villainous Cyborg from Terminator 2, praised Earl on Twitter.
Earl has been in many other movies, TV shows, and video games during his career.
His film credits include 9 to 5, Living Dangerously, Prince, Sioux City, Death Mark, Alien Nation, The Main Event, Naked Gun 33⅓: The Final Insult and The Nut Professor II: Collections.
His vast television work includes roles in The Streets Of San Francisco (Hawaii Five-O), Wonder Woman, Police Woman and Barnaby Jones as well as The Dukes Of Hazzard.
He is voiced, among other roles, by Mr. Bleakman in Clifford The Big Red Dog and Ghost Pirate LeChuck, in the Monkey Island video game, and Charles “Rhino” Dally in the Batman animated series.
But Dr. Silberman will always be his iconic role, a slightly nerdy but well-meaning doctor that doesn’t understand the real story.
He is survived by Kathy, daughter Ruby and two grandchildren.
