The actor shared a series of childhood photos with his mom, writing: “A few days ago… this amazing and inspiring female warrior with a pure heart… my mom passed away.
As a child, her words “No one above or below you…all equal” have stuck with me throughout my life.
“I feel privileged and privileged to share this with her… OBE for both of us mom.”
The mixed-race actor once credited his mother for helping him end the racist abuse he received on the streets of Liverpool.
