The 82-year old singer is still releasing hits songs Recently in confrontation with StormzyFor number one, he is a big fan of the “Blood Type Diet”, which, while not supported by scientific evidence at all, involves adjusting the diet to suit your blood type.

Despite the doubts surrounding the effectiveness of the diet Sir Cliff is a fan and believes that this approach to his health is what has allowed him to remain in the music business for so long.

“There are 10 items,” the singer stated. If you’re interested, he has blood type A. [I can’t have]. I cannot eat dairy or wheat. No red meat. No crustaceans. No mango, papaya or banana. No potatoes, tomatoes. You can also eat eggplant. You’d be surprised at how many foods you give up if you look at the list.
It’s not that difficult.

We would disagree and invite people for a try to remove the cheese from our hands and see if they can make it as far as they can, but Sir Cliff says he still misses certain things that he removed from his diet.

You just need to be careful when choosing Indian cuisine. You know what? I’m allowed to indulge every now and again.

If I could have a treat, it would probably be steak, four times a year. But today is something I look forward too. You must plan your sin.

Here’s a gentle reminder that food isn’t a sin.

Sir Cliff stated that he was clearly doing something right. He also mentioned that he takes a wide range vitamins, joking that “one or two of these keep me alive and they don’t tell me which one.”

But what is the blood type diet?

It has been around since at least the 90’s. It was developed by Dr. Peter D’Adamo a naturopathic physician. He advises people to eat food according to their blood type. This is the best for their body and to avoid food that could harm it.

The blood type diet is not only based on “ancestral eating patterns”, but also focuses on eating more fresh foods and fewer processed foods (which sounds to us like a balanced diet).

Take it with a grain, however, as there are no peer-reviewed scientific studies to support the diet. Its effectiveness has been long debated.
