Women’s golf is now a star with Chiara Noja (16) beating Charlie Hall in England to win her first European Tour title at the Aramco Teams Series Jeddah.
The German schoolgirl tied Hull at 13 over par with a 65-foot final, and then won Saturday’s playoff at Royal Greens Golf and Country Club.
Noja, who was at the invitation of organizers of the multi-million-dollar tournament, stated that “I don’t believe it has sunk yet.”
“Before we went to the pub, my dad showed Charlie a photo of me when I was 10 years old. It’s like a full-circle, it’s a blessing.
“I have worked hard over many decades to be able not to undo my shots, stick to all I do, and not be afraid of failing.”
Noja’s 65 was Noja’s lowest equal round. There were seven birds on the first hole and an eagle at the fourth. This putt was five places lower than the average.
Hull won four of her last six holes to record a 68. But it was her opponent who took advantage of her playoff chance, who is 10 years older than she.
The teen, born in Berlin, moved to England at seven years old and now lives in Dubai. She turned professional at 15 and is currently in her first year on the Women’s European Tour.
“I have no idea what the next plan is. Noja, who has raised $75,000, said that she was also excited. “I will just try to relax, maybe eat a burger and sleep – probably the best night’s sleep I will ever get – and see how I feel.”

Nicole Garcia from South Africa completed a great week by creating an eagle at its end to place third overall with 12 underscores.
Garcia became the first to win multiple team wins as a captain during the team competition on Friday Aramco Team Series events.
After a playoff with Kristen Wolff, the title was won by the quartet, which also included Cassandra Alexander and Teresa Melica.
Alexander sealed the win with a birdie on the first overtime hole and Garcia said: “Cassandra and I have known each other for a long time and talked before we even knew we were in the playoff she was in, so that was already decided.”
Alexander added, “It was a bit nerve-wracking but I kind of knew what I was going to get from the previous rounds, so I went to the range and hit a pair of that shot beforehand. I hit 7 irons, and that was enough to get the job done.”
