Samosa and a cup of coffee anyone? Why young people are switching to savoury snacks over biscuits

Young people are more inclined to eat savory snacks with their drinks than sweets.
According to food and beverage experts, teens and young adults are less likely to eat three meals at a time than they used to, and more likely to snack throughout the day.

This trend has prompted warnings about the risk of biscuit sales being discontinued by the younger generation.

According to a survey of 1,000 people, granola bars are the most popular tea snack among 18-29-year-olds, more than twice as many people over 65.

Perhaps they are searching for something more important

Granola can be sweetened, but it is a far cry from sugary crackers.

Dr Sharon Hall is the UKTIA chief executive. She stated that granola bars can be very filling so it’s possible to eat them with tea.

“Maybe they’re searching for something more substantial. Same goes for samosas.

Eight percent of the young people surveyed chose a job. Samosa Tea is now more popular than it was 65 years ago.

Dr. Hall suggested younger people would prefer “nutty or spice flavors” as they evoke memories from past meals.

“One thing we are interested is that food such as this reminds people of their travels, and that a cup or two of samosa brings them back to that memory,” she stated.

“We know from data that a cup coffee elicits many positive emotions, and this is something that all ages can experience.”
