Before the UK Championships, she was as friendly and open as ever with Jordan Brown and Mark Allen, but Ronnie O’Sullivan couldn’t believe the compliments.
Allen and Brown are close friends, training partners, and will be playing each other in the UK Championships 32 on Saturday.
They were talking in the practice room before their Barbican game in York. Then, instead of shaking hands before the game began, they gave each other a friendly hug.
The world champion can’t understand why you should be so friendly with your opponent before a big game.
I don’t understand, I just don’t understand. While I may be different, I don’t want anyone to talk to me.
“That’s it. The competition is the most important part. It’s not clear to me, it’s hard for me to grasp it. But everyone is different.
Jimmy White agreed to O’Sullivan’s statement that this was not a time to overplay. He said it right before the game.
“As Ron said,” replied the whirlwind. “At the end, it’s your business, whoever is in front of you, they have to be eliminated.”
So I’m there with Ron for a while, Tony Mio, I dodged each other well, we just nodded but it’s all.
“You don’t want to make any compliments before the match. Steve Davis, I didn’t even meet him before the game.
O’Sullivan is known for being a solitary man. He did it during the Champions League final, when Judd Trump scored 47 against him. There was no handshake after that.
Rocket was asked about the incident Saturday and suggested that he didn’t bother making the 147 pieces of pie.
“It was a strange thing,” he said, “for me 147 I understand why people think it’s cool, but for me I don’t have a hard time doing it.” When I see someone else do it, I think it’s totally normal.
“The most important thing in my head is that I still have one more frame to play, it was 6-2, I was thinking I need to try to win that last frame.
Perhaps I was in a too large zone. If my concentration wasn’t so good, I might have gotten lost in. I was too focused on trying in, and I was really in my bubbles.
Then I was shocked that Judd actually went on to 147. There wasn’t a prize for 147.
I was shocked that he took it on, because he could have been missing out on Lions.
It wasn’t a psychological thing.
It’s duck’s backwater. It doesn’t matter what I do with cash.
