Madley was interviewing a unionist about rail strikes that occurred during Christmas. They discussed exactly when the holiday period would start.
Lynch, general secretary of National Union of Railroad, Maritime and Transportation Workers, told Madley he’s “a rowdy”, but the GMB host stated to Madley that he wouldn’t “let you get away without shit.”
It sparked strong reactions. OfcomViewers complained about Madley’s use of Lynch.
Madeley was clear that he didn’t want to hide anything when it came time for the pair’s second reunion Tuesday.

They accuse my of interrupting their work and not letting them finish. But they were actually on the wrong track.
“He was saying that they weren’t the Christmas strikes we all saw in December, because in his books Christmas didn’t start until Christmas Eve. Which I already stated was clearly absurd.”
He said, “You sometimes have to interrupt people, in no way speak to them, and while it’s not pleasant to watch, sometimes it’s necessary.” This is work.
Things didn’t get any better when it came to talking again.
When Madeley brought up a point he made in their recent conversation about the impact of his strikes on the hospitality industry and how recent figures estimate they cost £1.5 billion in December and affected business and jobs, he added: ‘It’s as if I was kind of right, right?
Lynch responded quickly, saying, “Well Richard, you’re always correct as everyone in this country knows.”
Madley stated that he would “personally attempt to keep any kind of personal abuse out” during the interview with Lynch.
Madeley Lynch repeatedly interrupted Madeley during their interview last week and eventually told him “run” after a discussion on when the “real start” to the holiday season would occur.
