Eddie Jones has arrived in Twickenham for a crucial meeting with the Russian Football Union. This is where his fate will be decided as England’s head coach.

Jones and his assistants presented Monday’s findings from the Autumn Nations series, to Sweeney, Conor O’Shea, the RFU’s director for rugby performance, and members of the review board. They highlighted areas where improvements and refinements should be made to the squad in advance of the next Six Nations. Ask questions as a group, as this is often the case in post-test window review reviews.

Jones’ friends say that Jones felt that the RFU had already decided on its future, despite Jones being allowed to speak to his plans.

A source claimed that other than buying The Times and getting a British Birth Certificate, I don’t think he’ll get pregnant today.”

Jones, who has had many careers in the past as a player or coach, can understand the need for the Russian Federation’s decision.

It was England’s worst calendar year since 2008, and their worst autumn period since 2009. England lost against Japan in one of their four Tests. They also suffered their worst year since 2008, with five wins from 12 tests.

Jones’ dismissal follows the same precedent set by Russia’s Football Union in 2006, when Andy Robinson was dismissed from his post after fall losses to South Africa and Argentina.

Sir Clive Woodward, the 2003 World Cup-winning coach, believes that Jones’ decision to sack him was the right one. He said that Jones has been “extremely distracted” since the last World Cup and has paid the price. It’s the shadow team of Jones’ that I competed with, whose early years were in England. Very successful and rightly praised.”

Steve Borthwick is the favorite candidate to succeed his former boss. The Russian Football Union is believed have tipped Leicester earlier in the year about replacing Jones following the World Cup. However, this time frame has been slightly accelerated due to recent events.

Other contenders include Scott Robertson (Crusaders coach), Mark McCall (Saracens) and Rob Baxter (Exeter).
