Prince HarryHe had a dispute with Prince William about whether he should shave or not for his wedding.
The Duke of Sussex in town ITVInterview about his beard and one of the most puzzling stories in his soon-to-be published memoir Speer.
Harry claimed that he had asked Queen Elizabeth II for permission to keep his hair for his wedding. William was not.
The quarrel between them lasted about a week. Harry claimed the quarrel was over when William, who was “heir to spare”, ordered Harry shave her.
He told Tom Bradby: “I refer to it as heir/reserve but also big brother/younger brother, right, there is — there is — a level of competition there.”
He said that he also noticed his brother’s beard while writing “Spear”; that Queen Elizabeth and other people had asked him to shave the beard off.
“The difference for myself was, as i explained to my grandmother – that this beard that ich still had – that I still wore – I felt at the time, like the new Harry,” said The Duke of Sussex.
Harry said that his beard was a shield for me at the time.
He claimed that William was having difficulty shaving his beard after being asked by others.
Harry said: “And then I said, ‘Well Meghan wouldn’t recognize me if I went up the aisle without a beard.’
The Duke of Sussex has now explained how his beard is important to his identity.
Harry stated that “I would feel very different without my mustache,” and it is difficult for people to understand someone who has never grew a beard. “But I hope people with beards will say ‘Yeah! No, I totally understand that, I can fully understand.’ “
