“I totally stole the idea of swearing and arguing from Monty Python tbh,” Musk wrote.
King responded to the initial announcement that users would be charged for verifying status. He wrote, “$20 per month to keep my bluecheck?
“F*** that, they should pay me. If this is forced, I’ll go like Enron.”
Musk responded directly to the response of the author, saying, “We have to pay the bills somehow!” Twitter cannot be entirely dependent on advertisers. How about $8?”.
Multiple reports in the US claim that if verification plans go ahead, users will have 90 days to sign-up or lose their blue tick.
Twitter did not comment on the plans. However, Mr Musk answered users’ questions about verification by stating that “the entire verification process” is being renewed.
The verification system was created to identify real users and influencers using the platform. This includes journalists, politicians, sports stars, entertainment personalities, journalists, and major brands.
