Manchester City defeated a disappointing Chelsea 1-0 to reduce Arsenal’s lead at Premier League top.
Riyad Mahrez scored a goal on Thursday night for the away team against Stamford Bridge.
Man City’s win ensured that they remained at the second place in the Premier League table, closing the gap to Arsenal. However, the unbeaten record continues into November ahead of the World Cup Qatar.
After being held to a 1-1 draw on Sunday 1 January by Nottingham Forest, Chelsea’s run of not having a run now extends to two matches.
The Blues are tenth in the English Premier League table, three places behind the European League places, and ten points away from the Champions League places.
Manchester City took the lead at the 63rd minute after substitutes Jack Grealish & Mahrez connected well.
Mahrez scored all three points with a brilliant ball into the penalty area by an English footballer.
Strangely, the two sides will face off on Sunday. However, they will be fighting for a place at the FA Cup’s fourth round.
Manchester City will play Southampton in next week’s quarter-finals at the English Professional League Cup. Manchester United will then return to the English Premier League on the 14th of January against Manchester United.
After the FA Cup match ChelseaFulham will play in Premier League matches against Crystal Palace, Liverpool and others.
Arsenal are second, five behind Manchester City. Newcastle United are third, while Manchester United is fourth.
Everton Wolves are currently in Southampton landing places.
