Following a night with heavy rain, flood warnings were issued in several areas of the country.
Storm Claudio has caused torrential rains, high winds and damage to parts of the UK.
There are reports of rush hour issues, especially around LondonSome roads were impassable because of the stagnant water
The rain warning for the south coast remains in effect until mid afternoon.
21 flood alerts were activated as of 7.30 AM for parts of the capital, coastal areas, and areas close to swollen river banks.
One warning sign of severe flooding is for the village at Buxted in Sussex. Nearly a month of rain fell in just the first hour of this morning.
The Environment Agency warned that Oak River was “highly rising” and that flooding could “affect fields and country roads, parks, and river characteristics”.
More rain is forecast for this morning, but the river will hopefully recede as the afternoon gets dryer.
Other warnings were canceled in areas around the Wye and Wye rivers, despite overnight flood concerns.
After the flood of the A41 Hendon Way in north London last night, cars were stuck in high water.
The Met Office also warned about strong winds along the north coast of Scotland.
Conditions are expected improve as today nears, but some areas will see more rain this morning.
A Met Office spokesperson stated that a severe outbreak was likely to strike southeast England and the early East Anglia.
There will be sunshine and showers in other parts of the country, with thunder possible in the southwest.
While the days will be more sunny, forecasters warn of strong storms in coastal areas.
