After a scrappy affair, Leeds & West Ham were forced to settle on a draw

Many people didn’t expect that tonight’s match between Leeds and West Ham would result in a loss of relegation at the start of this season, but here we are.

Each of them have struggled for consistency this campaign. Managers will be aware of the need to improve form with the club’s Premier League future in mind and their jobs.

Leeds have not won any league wins since November. Jesse Marsh continues his confidence in the younger members.

Crysencio Summerville and Willy Gnonto have already made significant contributions to this season. However, the relegation battle remains a matter of concern and Leeds could lose tonight.

There are many reasons to be happy, not least the grueling draw with Newcastle United at St. James’ Park last Saturday. Although Newcastle had many chances to win the match, Marsh will be buoyed at the fight his side showed in such hostile circumstances.

Leeds has scored 16 points this season. 11 of those points have been at home. This means that clashes at Elland Road against other struggling sides are significant.

David Moyes believes that every game is important. West Ham’s defeat to Brentford last week was their fifth consecutive defeat in the Premier League. They are now clear of the relegation zone based on goal difference.

Moyes’ 17th-place finish is disappointing, regardless of whether or not they feel their achievements in recent seasons were an overachievement.

Fans will have cheered Gianluca Skamaca’s return from injury against Brentford last Wednesday, but he would certainly make way if Michail Anton recovered from a mistake.
