Connor McGinn, Labor MP, has been suspended from the party pending an investigation.
After a complaint was filed through the party’s independent process, it is believed that the St Helens North MP was suspended.
According to The Guardian McGinn stated that the allegations were “completely unverifiable”.
It was confirmed that he had been administratively removed from his Labor Party membership, and automatically suspended as a result by the parliamentary whip.
McGinn, 38 is regarded as a key ally to leader Sir Keir Sterner and recently returned to parliament following a leave of absence because of a genetic heart condition.
Yesterday, Tory MP Julian Knight, who was the DCMS chair, was removed from office after lodging a complaint with Met Police.
