Dear Worms – Food is my greatest passion and my worst enemy.
I am a foodie and have a constant interest in eating.
I don’t smoke or drink very much. Food is my vice.
I am 52 years old and married to a single woman. I punish myself daily for my obsession.
Last year, I was so sick from Covid that I couldn’t eat anything.
I was happy to discover that my clothes were loose when I was able to go out again.

I found that I liked myself more and was able to stick to a calorie-controlled diet.
You have now moved four stones.
However, after a three-week cruise, my weight gained a lot.
I’m back up to fourteenth again.
I was so disgusted by my body, I thought i had lost weight.
But I can’t eat normal food. It’s either “dieting”, or “bingeing”, and nothing in between.
Willpower is a must for me. I sit at my computer and think about lunch. Then, I think about snacks and dinner.
I’m pathetic.

Didier says:Don’t be too hard on yourself.
You eat to keep yourself busy, not because of hunger.
You can eat more if you eat the right food.
Check your NHS plan (nhs.uk/better-health/lose-weight) which will make you aim for balanced nutrition rather than diet.
