In some cases victims claimed they reported ongoing assaults on other employees. However, corruption continues to ignore these reports.
The state law that was passed in 2020 allows victims of sexual assault to continue their legal proceedings for three years, despite the statute of limitations.
Camp Scott, Camp Kenyon Scudder, as well as the Challenger Memorial Youth Center are some of the hall facilities that were named in the lawsuit.
One victim, a man who claimed that he was held at Nidorf Juvenile Hall 2004 said that a man and a woman sexually assaulted his body and warned him not tell anyone about it.
The alleged rapists would promise him early release or give him items that are not easily found inside the facility.
“On those long, lonely days,” said the man. “Keep coming.” Times. “How would that be done to someone?”
A county juvenile home officer allegedly rubbed the breasts of a pregnant woman while she was there.[s] while smiling, suggesting that it was for her sexual gratification.”
The attack occurred in 2018, at the age of 16 for the woman.
Another girl claimed she was handcuffed to the chair and groped at Camp Scott in 1999. In two other cases, she claimed, other girls witnessed her performing oral sex on a male officers.
If she refuses to have sexual adventures, she will be sent to the “pit”.
The 38-year-old claimed that teachers, nurses and cooks ignored her report of the assaults.
Attorney Douglas Rochin stated that “the county basically created an environment in which these abusers could trap… victims in an enclosed space much like a caged bird.” Times.
“The system’s failure can be seen in the fact that it continues to function as it does, despite all the complaints, knowledge, and constructive criticisms from the county.
An earlier August lawsuit claimed that 70 more girls were abused in the same facilities as the latest lawsuit.
