Weghorst was a replacement Cristiano RonaldoHis private contract was terminated in November following a controversial interview he conducted with him Piers Morgan.
United spent £220m last summer, £100m more than they had originally agreed to spend on Ten Hag.
This was due in part to United’s poor start to this season and increased spending from other clubs on the marketplace.
United is now cash-strapped and the club wants to lower their wage bill.
Wieghurst’s arrival in the United States was seen as a one-time move abroad to replace Ronaldo, and Ten Hag suggested that there would be no more business.
The Dutchman said that the club could still sign another player if the opportunity presents itself.
Ten Hag stated, “I believe Manchester United should always search for solutions, always seek for the best.”
This is what we’ll do. We will do our research, and if there are any opportunities, we will go for them.
