After they beat Wales tonight in Qatar, England will play Senegal on Sunday in the World Cup round 16
Phil Foden and Marcus Rashford both scored two goals each to take the top spot. Phil Foden also won comfortably over their neighbors to win the game. Group B.
Wales didn’t look like they would win the World Cup finals. They were humiliated and at the bottom of the group.
England will now face Senegal in Group A, which includes Premier League stars Kalidou Coulibaly, Edouard Mendy, and will be playing in the second round.
This will be the first match between England and the reigning African champions.
After Gareth Southgate rotated his team to give Foden and Rashford game time, they’ll be able to do it with a great line-up.
England was dominant in the first half. They could have taken the lead when Harry Kane fed Marcus Rashford, but Danny Ward, the Wales goalkeeper, came out hard to stop the shot.
Judd Bellingham’s spin reached the penalty area, and Phil Foden fired high-and-wide. Rashford sent an overhead goal and Ward fired John Stones’ header from under the crossbar. England won the match.
Wales did not threaten until the second-half injury period, when Joe Allen shot from the penalty box’s edge. The task was made more difficult by the loss of their captain Gareth Bale, who sustained a serious injury in the first quarter.
In the 50th minute Rashford broke the deadlock when he kicked a free kick around a wall. Foden added another almost immediately by tapping in Kane’s low cross at his back post.
In the 68th minute, Manchester United forward Calvin Phillips scored his second goal. He ran onto a long pass from Ward and cut inside to beat Ward at his near.
