SunSport exclusive: Beckham Inter Miami has already held talks with Ronaldo.
Lalas believes that five-time Ballon d’Or Winner should cross the Atlantic rather than the Mediterranean.
He told Fox: “It looks like he’s going to make a lot of money and go to Saudi Arabia and play.
“It’s out of sight and out mind. I don’t recall the last time we heard of the Saudi League.
“For a guy who is so concerned with his brand, and definitely has more money than he can make, that’s a strange thing for him to do.
“You’ll figure it all out for $200 million. If the alternative is to make less money, I’ll play and live in Miami and LA.
“MLS can’t compete with that kind of money, but what MLS can offer it is a much bigger entry into the American market — it’s already huge in America.
“That might have been more appealing for the guy who’s built this brand over the years.
“Right now, he might not have made money, he might as well have established his brand.

“I’m not saying we won’t hear from Cristiano Ronaldo or that his brand can’t grow, but I certainly wouldn’t think about growth in Saudi Arabia compared to the US.
“We’ve seen it with Zlatan Ibrahimovic, David Beckham, Thierry Henry or Wayne Rooney. The moments they have from an MLS perspective go viral, they’re not completely out of sight, out of mind.”
