More clips have been released of the interview in Ronaldo explaining why he did not travel on United’s preseason tour to Australia in July.
He said that Georgina Rodriguez, his partner, and Bella Esmeralda her infant daughter were admitted to hospital with a “major issue” just months after their son’s death. However, he claimed that he was not fully believed in by the UN hierarchy.
Later that day, Ronaldo claimed in another clip that United owners Joel Glazer and Avram Glazer “don’t care” about their club.
Tuesday, 15 November
Ronaldo opened up about his April birth death, which he described was the “most difficult time” in his life.
He said, “You’re right, football continues, very quickly, many tournaments, football doesn’t stop.” We have many, many different competitions. It was probably the hardest moment of my life. It was hard for my family, especially Gio.
Ronaldo arrived at the World Cup finals, Qatar, and seemed to be having a frosty conversation with Bruno Fernandes, a United and Portugal teammate.
Wednesday 16 November
Millions have been searching their program planners to find out which channel is actually on Talk TV. But the first part of the “bombshell interview” has finally aired. The new revelations included Ronaldo’s closeness to joining Manchester City before returning home to Old Trafford and Sir Alex Ferguson’s convincing him not to join his rivals.
He also criticised the club’s owners, and the appointment Ralf Rangnick as interim manager after Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was fired, saying, “A senior manager should be brought into the team, not a sporting chief.”

The second segment aired with Ronaldo saying that Manchester United had “cut his legs” in his opinion and that he did not want him “shine” or to listen to advice as their relationship deteriorated.
The five-time Ballon d’Or Winner also spoke out about his future. He said: “It’s difficult for me to say that I won’t be returning to Manchester United, but let’s wait and see what happens.”
Gary Neville, a former Red Devils teammate, has asked United to cancel Ronaldo’s contract within the next few days.
Friday 18 November
United broke their silence by issuing a statement that stated they had begun to take action in the wake of the interview.
“Manchester United took appropriate measures this morning in response to Cristiano Ronaldo’s recent media interview. “Until this process is completed, we will not make any further comments,” read the statement.
Monday 21st of November
Ronaldo suddenly appeared during a press conference for Portugal, Qatar. He described himself as “bulletproof & iron-clad”. He said, “The atmosphere was excellent, there are no problems, and we are completely focused.”
Tuesday 22nd November
Manchester United announced that the superstar would be leaving the club by mutual consent with immediate effect.

Ronaldo released his statement: “After talks to Manchester United, we have mutually accepted to terminate our contract earlier.
“I love Manchester United, and I love the fans, and this will never change.”
“But, this seems like a good time to start looking for a new challenge. I wish the team all the best for the rest of the season, and for the future.
