It is a tradition that decorations should not be kept too long. But how long is too much?

When should you take down your Christmas tree and decorations
Some people take down the decorations and tree on Boxing Day. Others take it down on January 1.

Many people remove their decorations on the Epiphany Day (January 6), as they consider it to be the Twelfth night. After, after birthday.
Obviously, it depends on your definitions — but either way, they should be removed on either of those dates to avoid 2022 being unlucky for you.
There is still a way to avoid getting bad luck if you missed January 6.
An old tradition that marked Christians in 16th century Europe was that people would keep their decorations up to Candlemas, which is February 2nd. You can always wait until Candlemas if you forget to take down your decorations.
When is Epiphany, Twelfth Night?
Epiphany occurs on January 6, 2022. Twelfth night is January 5, 2022.
What is Epiphany, exactly?
The official end of Christmas marks the Epiphany. It also marks the baptism by John the Baptist. “Epiphany” actually means “appearance” in Greek. However, the date itself celebrates God’s arrival on Earth as a human being in His Son.
This is also the date when the Three Kings (also known by the Three Wise Men), arrived to meet the infant Jesus. They followed a shining star to Bethlehem, and brought their gifts of gold (a symbol for his royal status), and frankincense. (A symbol of his divine baptism)
In case you didn’t know, frankincense is a perfume and myrrh is a perfume. Frankincense is a milky-white resin extracted from Boswellia tree trees, while myrrh comes from the Commiphora myrrh plant and is a reddish color.
The three kings, also known as the Magi were named Melchior, Caspar and Balthazar. Some believe they represent Europe, Arabia, or Africa.
It is called the twelfth Night.
Christmas was celebrated for 12 days in the olden days.
This began on Christmas Eve (December 24), and was continued until the Epiphany. The 12 days begin with Christmas Day.
This means that January 5th was celebrated as Christmas.
This was the practice from the Middle Ages up to the nineteenth century.
Epiphany is more that a day for some
While the Catholic Church celebrates Epiphany on a single day, many Protestants observe “Epiphany Season” from January 6 through Ash Wednesday and then the beginning of Lent.
The Epiphany season is celebrated on the last day of Epiphany. This is known as “Transfiguration Sunday”.
Different dates are used by some to celebrate Epiphany
Epiphany is observed by Orthadox Christians on January 19 rather than January 6.
Depending on where you are, the name of this celebration can also vary. If you live in Spanish-speaking countries, Epiphany is called Three Kings Day (or – Dia de los Reyes).
