The new sword of the Queen Consort has been revealed. It’s the monogram that was used to indicate Camilla’s official position.
The Consort password will be used by the Queen on personal papers, gifts, and cards, as well on the cross she will place in Memorial Square, Thursday, November 10.
The design features the initial words of Queen Consort, “C” meaning Camilla and “R”, which stands for Regina. It is positioned alongside the representations for the crown.
Camila selected the Sevier from a variety of designs. She will now be her own.
Professor Ewan Clayton (calligrapher at College and Academic Board of Royal School of Drawing), designed the sword with Timothy Noad, Herald Painter and Scrivener of College of Arms.
While you may catch a glimpse at the Queen’s Queen code, you will also see a file. Official King Token Often.
King Charles revealed the design he chose in September. It, like Camilla, includes the letter C to signify his first name, and the letter R to signify Rex, the Latin name of the king.
Between these two letters is the Roman number three (III), indicating that he’s the third king in British History to be called Charles. So it reads Charles Rex III.
Charles Cypher will be on all government buildings, traditional police helmets and state documents.
These changes can take a while, but you won’t see many new blades before then. Charles’ official coronation in May.
For the moment, you can still see Queen Elizabeth II’s sword at many places throughout the country.
