After the hospital told the “no relatives” subject that the child had died, the family of the five-year old said that staff could have saved their child’s life if they had listened.

Yusuf Mahmood Nazir’s uncle Zaheer Ahmad said that he “begged” staff members at Rotherham General Hospital, to treat his nephew’s sore throat.

Mr. Ahmed said he “begged and begged” to get his nephew admitted to hospital, but was told “there are no beds and not enough doctors.”

Youssef succumbed to pneumonia on Monday. According to reports, a pneumonia spread to his lungs, causing multiple organ failure and a number of heart attacks.

The Rotherham NHS Foundation Trust launched an investigation into Youssef’s care.

His parents took him to their GP because he had complained of a sore, burning throat on November 13.

When his condition didn’t improve, they took him to Rotherham General Hospital’s emergency department.

The family waited hours before Youssef was seen. However, he was sent home after the doctor said that it was the most severe case of tonsillitis he had ever seen. Mr. Ahmed stated that the family was very grateful for the decision to send Youssef home.

According to his family, the boy was unable to swallow and struggled to breathe.

Youssef’s condition deteriorated while he was at his home. His parents called an ambulance and insisted that he be taken to Sheffield Children’s Hospital.

Sky News’ Mr Ahmed said that if they treated him the way we want him to, he would be here with us now.

He could have been here playing as if. It’s not his fault that we lost a beautiful baby boy. We begged, begged, and begged for help. We couldn’t get it.

We didn’t receive the help we needed or desired.

We had one doctor, they kept telling, we kept hearing it again and again. What are you asking us to do? We don’t have any beds.

“What would you like us to do?” We don’t have the space. What would you like us to do?

Do not complain to the large people. Don’t complain to the big people that only gave you one doctor.

Rotherham NHS Foundation Trust Chief executive Dr Richard Jenkins offered his condolences and added: “We have launched a thorough inquiry into Youssef’s treatment, which will include contacting Sheffield NHS Foundation Trust.

We have reached out to the family and will continue to do this as part of our investigation.

I want to assure families that we have a fully-staffed Pediatric Medical Service, which provides support to our Urgent Emergency Care Center medical colleagues when necessary.

Like other South Yorkshire public hospitals, we do not have pediatric intensive care beds.
