Since the premiere of season 10, viewers have seen the 73 year-old wrestle on deck since he had back surgery.
In the first staff meeting of the serieshe announced that he would rely on his staff—including head of soup Fraser Oleander and chef Rachel Hargroves—more while getting back on his feet.
Bravo’s favorite had to relinquish his position.
His crew sat down to share their next steps in the final episode. He told them that his injury was getting worse. The left side of me doesn’t feel any sensation.
He said, “I was expecting to make a lot more than I am, and the hardest part is that I can do nothing about it, and it is hard.”
The episode ends with him gathering his crew, where he shares the terrible news.
“You guys know, I had a hard time moving, and it was tough,” he said.
I am sorry for letting you guys down. So I decided to leave the boat.
Since 2013, the first season of Captain Lee was a hit with viewers. He has appeared in nearly every episode since then.
Because of his tireless efforts in the wheelhouse as well as his catchy confessions, his fans nicknamed him “The Sea Stud”.
The 73-year old had to have surgery on his back before filming started on the tenth series. He has been working hard to get in shape since then.
He told his staff at the premiere, “I’m a little helpless.”
“I have a problem with my nerves on my left side so you guys will be helping me in some areas.”
In a confession, he said: “I had back surgery prior to I left.”
“The worst is behind me now, and the doctors have assured me that I will continue to get better. I said, ‘Okay, I will work!’”
Although Captain Lee was rumored to have resigned from the series earlier in the year, he has not addressed the speculation publicly.
However, former Stu Stew Katchastain was recently questioned by the media about his future on TV. He insisted he wasn’t going anywhere.
He always returns. “Captain Lee will likely be on Donel Deck for as long as it lasts,” she said on Brandi Glanville’s Unfiltered podcast.
“There is an old saying that every captain goes down with his ship, and Captain Lee metaphorically did.”
“In the new season of ‘Build Deck’—which airs this fall on Bravo—there’s a change happening that hasn’t happened before in previous seasons,” she continued, cryptically.
“Captain Lee may or may not be the captain at times.”
