Wizz Air has been criticized by the UK’s aviation regulator for its “unacceptable behavior” in refunds and complaints.
The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA), reported that low-cost airlines were the worst for complaints escalated with 811 complaints per Million passengers in the UK.
If you are unhappy with the airlines’ handling of a grievance, escalated complaints can be filed to the Civil Aviation Authority or other dispute resolution mechanisms.
Comparatively EasyJetIt received 245 complaints, while Ryanair had 235 and British Airways had 166, respectively.
Anna Bowles from the CAA’s head for consumer policy and enforcement stated that “the volume of complaints and claims ADR has received in relation to Wizz Air was much higher than that of other airlines.”
Wizz was also questioned by the airline regulator about its time taken to process refund claims.
Bowles stated that Wizz Air has been made aware of its unacceptable behavior and that they expect to resolve the claims and late claims before Christmas.
The airline was contacted for comment.
