90% Of Arrested Due To Spiral Of Violence In Israel Are Arabs

90% of those arrested due to the spiral of violence in Israel are Arabs. Only 15 of the 170 arrested by the police are Jewish and the majority of cases are linked to racist attacks.

The violence does not stop in Israel . In recent weeks, the spiral of destruction caused by the Israeli aviation bombings has moved to the streets of mixed cities in the country , where there have been scenes of lynching against Arab citizens . However, more than 90% of those arrested by the police for such altercations are Arabs, while a minority are Jews .

Of the 170 people accused of riots , public destruction and assault on the police, up to 155 are Arab and only 15 are Jewish. In most of the cases registered by the authorities, the attacks were motivated by racism . That is why the courts have requested to keep the defendants in prison until the judicial processes they have open are completed.

Since May 8, when the Israeli repression operation began in Gaza , the police have detained 1,300 people, including 252 minors. In this case, there is also a high ethnic disproportion. Only 159 of the open cases involve Jewish citizens.

Criticism of justice
According to the Israeli media Haaretz, the district attorneys were criticized for not prosecuting Jews who participated in the wave of violence experienced in mixed cities such as Lod or Jaffa, in which citizens of both confessions lived together until now. However, in others such as Bat Yam there were scenes of lynching against Arab businesses and citizens by the Zionist extreme right without anyone being arrested.

The death toll is also uneven. Thus, the Israeli offensive against the Palestinian territory has caused more than 212 deaths and has forced the displacement of 41,000 people.
