Belfast’s historic Bittles Bar has launched its debut Christmas advert for 2024, marking a new milestone for the beloved pub and its owner, John Bittles.
Produced by Emerald Green Media for Ireland Before You Die, the advert premiered on YouTube on Monday, 25th November, at 8 PM.
The short film, titled Bittles Bar Christmas Advert 2024, captures the spirit of the iconic pub and its famously straightforward landlord. Known for his bold approach to hospitality, John Bittles has created a reputation for turning away soft drink orders and maintaining high standards. The advert embraces his character, positioning Bittles Bar as a unique Belfast experience.

This project represents a first for Emerald Green Media, featuring an acting debut by Haughey’s 87-year-old uncle and direction by Ronan Lavery, a longtime friend of Haughey. The advert also marks Lavery’s first paid directorial role.
Filmed across Belfast and inside Bittles Bar, the advert combines festive visuals with John’s witty personality, creating a fresh and memorable Christmas campaign.
