Barcelona, January 27, 2023 – The Mediterranean furniture design and decoration brand Kave Home, based in Sils (Girona), closes 2022 with a turnover of 153 million, growing by 34% in 2022 and doubling their 2020 turnover. During the last year the company has experienced a high rate of growth in all sales channels, highlighted by the total openings of 42 new physical points of sale in 13 countries, including 2 new own stores and 40 new franchises and shop-in-shop stores.
In the words of Francesc Julià, CEO: “Propelled by the success of our omnichannel brand ecosystem and a unique brand value proposal in our market, this 2022 we’ve continued to meet and surpass our growth targets. The opening of our first flagship store in Singapore at the end of the year was the first step in our plan of expansion for South East Asia, which will consolidate our position as a reference and benchmark in our sector at the global level.”
In 2022, following the exponential and transformative growth dynamic of recent years, Kave added a total of 230 employees, becoming a group of more than 500 people. In 2023, the expansion of 80 new positions at the headquarters and more than 50 positions at the new logistics platform is planned.
The headquarters, located in Sils, recently expanded and newly energy efficient, have been designed following open, collaborative concepts. Francesc Julià said: “The headquarters are the workspace of a large part of the Kave Home team and the centre of value and knowledge creation, so creating an atmosphere of calm and comfort has always been high priority. Our goal is a workspace where everyone in the company can develop their creativity, to continue transforming the company and the sector, with efficient use of resources and energy, aligned with our Kave Cares project”.
The Kave Cares project (in sustainability and social impact) has been a fundamental pillar of the company in recent years and is the area around which the strategic future of the brand revolves, in a sector in clear need of more initiatives in this direction. Kave Home’s commitment in this area is significant. As they point out in their mission statement, they aim to become a zero-carbon footprint and zero-waste company through several transformative projects that they’ve already launched or will launch this year.
The next year will continue to be one of rapid pace at Kave Home. It expects to open more than 60 new physical points of sale, including the opening of the first own stores in France and Italy, and an expected group turnover exceeding 200 million euros. In addition, the group plans to move to its new logistics platform in Tordera, Barcelona. The 55,000m2 macro complex, which can be expanded to over 90,000m2, will include a furniture recovery and recycling center, as well as an R&D area, and will be vital to ensure the brand’s continued future expansion on the European continent.
In January 2023, and coinciding with the 40th anniversary of the group, Francesc Julià Ametller has been appointed Chief Executive Officer, thus initiating the transition process of the company’s executive team. Francesc, an economist who began his professional career in the world of finance, consolidates with this position a career of more than 6 years in Kave Home, where he has assumed responsibilities within the areas of Sales Management, Marketing and Operations. Francesc Julià Gelabert, founder of the group and former CEO, will assume the chairmanship of the Board of Directors and will continue to be closely involved with the design area.
