Enthusiasts of the beloved Ninja Slayer series are set for excitement as KADOKAWA Game Linkage, Inc. and ABC Animation unveil plans for the franchise’s first indie game, targeting gamers worldwide.
The game, based on the popular “Ninja Slayer” novel and comic series, will launch on the renowned gaming platform, Steam. Details are available on the official Steam page and the game’s dedicated X account.
The venture is a partnership between ABC Animation, famed for its animated IPs, and KADOKAWA Game Linkage, noted for influential gaming publications. Their goal is to forge a top-tier indie gaming experience that marries traditional storytelling with innovative gameplay.
At the heart of this initiative is the acclaimed Ninja Slayer series, which has sold over 4.44 million copies globally. The game, titled “Neosaitama in Flames,” thrusts players into a cyberpunk metropolis, taking on the role of Ninja Slayer in a fast-paced, action-packed setting.
Creators Bradley Bond and Philip Ninj@ Morzez shared their enthusiasm for the adaptation, noting its true-to-form aesthetic and narrative richness.

The “Neosaitama in Flames” version is particularly nuanced, so it should be a good fit for a side-scrolling action game. I’ve heard that there will be a series of battles with Laomoto Khan and I am extremely excited about that.
