The European Union has launched its “Garden of Europe” campaign, which aims to enhance the visibility of European agri-food products and raise consumer awareness in both European and global markets.
Running until 2027, the initiative showcases the EU’s firm commitment to food safety and authenticity, ensuring that consumers receive the finest products that meet the highest global standards.
The campaign focuses primarily on the quality and safety of European kiwis from Greece and apples from Poland, targeting markets in countries such as Indonesia and India, with the objective of boosting exports and highlighting the fruits’ superior quality, safety, and nutritional value.
The EU is renowned for its stringent standards in the production of agri-food products, with thorough safety and quality regulations applied to the cultivation of apples and kiwis.
Both apples and kiwis from the EU are certified under various quality assurance programmes that guarantee compliance with food safety, environmental stewardship, and worker welfare standards throughout the production process.
Advanced traceability systems ensure that the journey of apples and kiwis is monitored from farm to consumer, providing complete transparency and accountability in the supply chain.
Regular inspections and audits conducted by independent bodies verify that all safety and quality standards are maintained consistently, from cultivation to packaging and distribution.
Through this dedication to high standards, the EU guarantees that its apples and kiwis are both safe and authentic for consumers.
The Agricultural Cooperative of Neapoli Agrinio and the Association of Polish Fruit and Vegetables Distributors are among the beneficiaries of the ‘Garden of Europe’ campaign.
