“The Perfumer’s Garden” Highlights Caversham Arts Trail

We are pleased to reveal that “The Perfumer’s Garden: Seasons and Sensations — A Reinterpretation of Renaissance Art” is included in this year’s Caversham Arts Trail, with an extended exhibition lasting until June 23rd. The event will kick off during the Arts Trail weekends on the 11th-12th and 18th-19th of May from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM, and will run until the end of June at the HUMOS Studio and Showroom in Caversham, Reading. The exhibition is open to the public free of charge, with no reservation required.

“The Perfumer’s Garden” transcends typical art exhibitions by reinterpreting Renaissance classics through scent. By leveraging advanced AI technology, the exhibition recreates famous works by Bosch, Botticelli, and Arcimboldo in a series of scent experiences, offering visitors a new method to connect with historical artwork.

This exhibition promises a dynamic olfactory art encounter, celebrating the enduring beauty of classic artworks and the transformative nature of scent. Attendees will discover innovative interpretations of traditional themes presented in the unique and engaging world of olfactory art.

Julie, a CAT organiser, stated her enthusiasm: “I was very excited that Humos approached us to join CAT 2024 and upon meeting Gabriel, the owner, I knew his passion for beauty and vision for his work resonated so well with the ethos of CAT. HUMOS is a beautiful premise with perfect exhibition spaces and a natural aesthetic. I can’t wait to see the final exhibition at HUMOS and share it with those visiting the Trail.”

Initiated in 2010 by local artists, the Caversham Arts Trail has evolved into an essential cultural event, showcasing 43 artists in 20 venues this year. It provides a direct engagement platform between the public and artists, fostering a vibrant creative community.

“The Perfumer’s Garden” is a focal point of this year’s trail, offering a prolonged opportunity for visitors to delve into the interaction between art forms. It presents a unique chance to see how traditional art can be reimagined through modern sensory experiences.
